Many of ACSA’s services can only operate through the support of volunteers. ACSA always welcomes support from the public, even if you are not a member of one of the communities closely affected by HIV/AIDS.
Opportunities for Volunteering at ACSA
The AIDS Council of South Australia has a number of Program Areas as well as administrative support and each area provides many opportunities for volunteers. For further information about volunteering please contact ACSA on 8334 1611 by email information@acsa.org.au.
Training
All new volunteers and staff of ACSA are required to undergo an HIV/AIDS awareness training program, which is conducted in conjunction with Relationships Australia. It is, however, possible to begin volunteering in some areas prior to completing this course.
Some Program Areas of the Council may also have an additional training program which you will need to complete before you commence your actual involvement, as well as ongoing training. The Volunteer Co-ordinator in your area of interest will confirm what training requirements may be involved.
There is no charge for attending the ACSA training courses mentioned above, however please keep in mind that the HIV/AIDS awareness course is compulsory.
